<p>In Montreal, on May 10, Sara Fraysse photographed the carnival without ever showing the crowd that brings it to life. At sunset, the light streams through the Ferris wheel and suspends the scene between color and architecture, with a red flag planted in the foreground as the only human reference point. Further away, the facade of a building displays rows of red candy apples in its window, almost like a pattern, awaiting the hustle and bustle to come. Elsewhere, a cloud of cotton candy drifts beneath the late-afternoon sky, nestled between the shadow of a wall and the orange glow of a stall.
