The master of urban lighting
Born in 1973 in Sauerland, the artist Jörg Wanderer moved to Munich in the south of Germany. A self-taught photographer, he became interested in the subject from childhood, learning from his father’s example, who was inseparable from his SLR. In the early days, he took polaroid snapshots during his holidays, for fun and with no particular ambition. His talent for shooting and digital post-production treatment developed in the late 1990s. Armed with a digital reflex, he started to broadcast his images on social networks; these were later published in various German magazines (Foto Praxis, Focus or ELLE City). Jörg Wanderer’s favourite themes are urban landscapes, street scenes, architecture, and the energy of light. A keen globetrotter, he mainly produces shots with long exposure, focusing on the chromatic wealth of cities once night has fallen.
