TRANSITUS MANHATTAN 7
Passionate about art, photographer Florian Mueller delivers a series of photographs that explore the theme of the permanence of movement. Combining analogue and digital technique, he accurately and inventively reworks the codes of Op Art to create vibrant images. By superimposing colourful and violently contrasted layers, he incites the human eye to fail to adjust to the forms and motifs. The juxtaposition of the various colours thus creates a slight retinal vibration that gives the illusion of movement. The images of New York that make up the series Transitus Manhattan thus invite the spectator to discover the city from a different angle. Their condensed character precisely conveys the hustle and bustle of modern urban space. Spectators are not asked to ponder what they see, but to ask what they feel when confronted with the representation of these abstract landscapes, evoking both immensity and solitude in equal measure. ...
