David Kirscher
David Kirscher is a photographer who divides his time between Paris and Madrid. He got his start by chance, using a camera that wasn’t even his, and in 2013, he turned it into his career. Since then, he has been working as a freelancer, primarily for jewelry, fashion, and lingerie brands, but it is in intimate settings that he truly shines. What drives him? “No matter the project or the people I’m working with, I always ask myself the same question: how can I tell a story through photos?” he explains. Cinema is his main source of inspiration. He can spend hours analyzing, frame by frame, the lighting in a film—the color of a rug that echoes a shade of lipstick, the shape of a lamp reflected in an eye. He often works with film, using minimal post-production. “Naturalness is intimacy,” he says. His images have been published in Fisheye, Apple Pie Magazine, C-heads, and Uncertain Magazine, and exhibited at Collateral and Cine Quinqui in 2021, among other venues.
