Driven by values of cultural cooperation and exchange in connection with the scientific field, the association Chasseurs de Nuits presents the nighttime through various media, notably including photography. In 2014, Franck Séguin, director of the association and former editor-in-chief of the Ciel & Espace magazine, created the Photo Nightscape Awards (PNA), an international photography prize for nocturnal landscapes, exhibited each year in France. The creation of Plongez dans le Cosmos [Dive into the Cosmos], a photography exhibition installed at the bottom of swimming pools, led to a desire to go further and develop cultural actions and a festival, NightScapades, based on the theme of nighttime. Created in late 2016, the association Chasseurs de Nuits supports renowned European and international projects that invite travel and the discovery of starry nocturnal skies.
