It was because he wanted a “more creative” and “less dull” life that David Clapp left his job as a water engineer to give guitar lessons. But he soon realised that it was photography that best expressed his creativity. A professional photographer since 2009, he is now one of the references in landscape, travel, and architectural photography: “getting paid to be creative is truly a privilege,” he muses! In 2019, he entered the pantheon of the London institution: the Royal Photographic Society. Ambassador of the Canon brand, serving as one of its technical references, he teaches photography classes between reports and participates in the events the brand holds across the globe. Not often present on social networks, David Clapp is nevertheless a fan of technology: “I’ve always thought that the creative aspect of photography and the technology go hand in hand,” he believes. “I have a hard time defining the photography I practice, my photos follow a rather elliptical path between architecture, landscape, and travel… I don’t know how to define what I do exactly, but it’s a bit of all of that!”
