Bridgeman Images is a global platform that makes “the best of art available for reproduction while supporting museums, artists and collections.” It was founded in 1972, in England, by Harriet Bridgeman. An art journalist and publisher, Harriet Bridgeman wanted to “make works of art and illustrations easily accessible on a global scale.” Today, the platform boasts a catalog of over six million images from partner photographers, agencies and museums around the world. Since 1972, Bridgeman Images has also managed the collection of copyright and reproduction rights on behalf of artists or their beneficiaries.
