Stéphane Gil is reconstructing the Delahaye 165, one of the most spectacular French convertibles of the 1930s. The burgundy bodywork flows in long curves, the vertical chrome bars of the grille stand out against the color, the windshield folds back like a visor, and the fenders almost completely cover the wheels with their thin spokes. All the art deco of the automobile is captured in this exceptional design. Stéphane Gil recreates this vintage coupe in computer-generated imagery. His virtuosity shines through in the detail of the chrome, in the rendering of the paint’s texture, and in the brilliance of the reflections. He rescues a rare car from oblivion and places it back in the spotlight.
