Since the creation of the mythical Orient Express, the Trans-Siberian Railway and the lesser-known but equally incredible Orient Silk Road Express, our subconscious has taken hold of these trains of legend, giving us the opportunity to dream of these veritable rail cruises. Unlike journeys by plane or boat, trains open a window on the landscapes they cross. And why shouldn't we be able to visit the world just by sitting aboard one of these trains? Each of the compositions in the “Seats with a view” series is based on a combination of photos of train interiors and landscapes taken by Laurent Dequick. For this photograph, Laurent Dequick immortalized this magnificent wooden train interior in the heart of Switzerland, offering an imaginary view of the bustling Zermatt slopes.
