Mario Weigand was born in 1983 in Bad Hambourg, Germany. He is a diplomaphysicist at the University of Frankfurt. His interest in astronomy and physics was awakened when he was 11 years old, resulting in his first big telescope only oneyear later. The combination with photography led to his current motivation : highresolution imaging of the solar system bodies and the documentation of dynamicprocesses. The focus lies on the seasonal phenomena on Mars, the changes in theatmosphere of Venus and high resolution lunar photography. Modern digital imagingtechniques and new methods in image processing make this possible.
