Recognised as the master of marine and underwater photography, American David Hall has won numerous prizes since the early '80s, and has been published in a vast array of magazines. His work is characterised both by his environmental and artistic ambitions. This domain requires both scuba diving skills and very specific experience in underwater photography. There are many constraints involved in the aquatic environment. Under the water, the refraction of light, but also the depth, opacity of the water, and currents, cause the colours to be significantly altered. Despite these constraints, the photographer manages to capture the forms, textures and colours, and to create compositions akin to paintings.
