It was in 2016 that Anthony J. Rayburn decided to quit his job in international trade to start his own photography company. He now practises in Fort Lauderdale, Florida (USA), specialising in tourism, gastronomy, and lifestyle, broadly conceived. His specificity is that he is as comfortable working as a photographer as he is a videographer, in the air and on the land and sea. His clients’ various commissions have led him to travel constantly, to the point that he decided in 2019 to no longer have a home base! Between two commissions, he undertakes personal projects that give free rein to his creativity. He prefers the remotest corners of the United States, encounters with people he never would’ve thought he’d meet, and landscapes that sometimes seem unreal. Influenced by photographers such as Andreas Gursky or Irving Penn, for their ability to capture moments of humanity, he seeks to recreate this kind of encounter: “Of course, it’s possible to plan everything, organise everything,” he explains. “But it is even more interesting to create all the conditions to put oneself in the situation of capturing a magical moment.”
